{"id":504504,"date":"2025-12-22T03:11:15","date_gmt":"2025-12-22T00:11:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reform.news\/?p=504504"},"modified":"2025-12-22T12:16:26","modified_gmt":"2025-12-22T09:16:26","slug":"belarusian-pilots-to-leave-the-tunisian-island-of-djerba-in-the-near-future","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reform.news\/en\/belarusian-pilots-to-leave-the-tunisian-island-of-djerba-in-the-near-future","title":{"rendered":"Belarusian Pilots to Leave the Tunisian Island of Djerba \u201cIn the Near Future\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>The crew of a Mi-26T helicopter, consisting of seven Russian citizens and two Belarusian citizens, will leave Tunisia in the near future, the press service of the Russian Embassy in Tunisia reported.<\/p>\n<p>It was previously reported that the crew had been detained at Djerba airport in Tunisia.<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cOn December 20, the Russian Embassy in Tunisia received an official letter from the Kyrgyz company that owns the aircraft, requesting assistance in resolving the situation faced by the Mi-26T helicopter crew, consisting of seven Russian citizens and two Belarusian citizens,\u201d<\/i> the embassy\u2019s press service said.<\/p>\n<p>According to the document, from December 19 to the present time, the Russians and Belarusians have been forced to remain in the transit zone of the airport on the Tunisian island of Djerba, where the helicopter made a scheduled technical landing.<\/p>\n<p>The Russian Embassy sent a diplomatic note to Tunisia\u2019s Foreign Ministry to clarify and resolve the legal status of the crew members. Staff of the embassy\u2019s consular section are in constant contact with the aircraft commander to respond promptly to any developments, the press service said.<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cAs explained by the local foreign ministry, the Tunisian authorities did not obstruct the helicopter\u2019s onward flight.
