On 17 December, another round of Belarusian-Chinese inter-MFA consultations took place in Minsk. The Belarusian delegation was headed by First Deputy Foreign Minister Siarhei<\/b>\u00a0Lukashevich<\/b>, while the Chinese side was led by Assistant Foreign Minister at the rank of Deputy Minister Liu Bin<\/b>.<\/p>\n

“During the talks, the sides summed up the results of bilateral interaction in the current year, paid attention to issues of economic and investment cooperation, assessed progress in implementing instructions and initiatives formulated following dialogue at the high and highest levels, and also agreed to maintain active contacts next year”<\/i>, the Foreign Ministry press service reported.<\/p>\n

Issues of cooperation within the SCO, BRICS, and the United Nations were also discussed. The sides noted the stable dynamics of development of bilateral relations and political dialogue.<\/p>\n

Belarus expressed gratitude to China for supporting the inclusion of the \u201cNiehliubka Textile Tradition of the Vietka District of the Homyel<\/span> Region\u201d in UNESCO\u2019s List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.<\/p>\n

Minsk expressed support for the Global Governance Initiative put forward by Xi Jinping<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Special attention during the meeting was paid to the situation around Taiwan.<\/p>\n

“The Belarusian side confirmed that it remains committed to the One China principle and supports all efforts of the Chinese government to protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity”<\/i>, the Foreign Ministry stated.<\/p>\n
