{"id":492412,"date":"2025-10-22T06:56:09","date_gmt":"2025-10-22T03:56:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reform.news\/?p=492412"},"modified":"2025-10-22T07:17:24","modified_gmt":"2025-10-22T04:17:24","slug":"vilnius-airport-resumes-operations-at-6-40-a-m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reform.news\/en\/vilnius-airport-resumes-operations-at-6-40-a-m","title":{"rendered":"Vilnius Airport Resumes Operations at 6:40 a.m."},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Vilnius Airport reopened its airspace at 6:40 a.m. on Wednesday, the airport\u2019s press service reported.<\/p>\n<p>The airport had been closed since 10:23 p.m. on October 21 <a href=\"https:\/\/reform.news\/en\/nearly-30-flights-canceled-or-diverted-due-to-weather-balloons-at-vilnius-airport\">due to meteorological balloons<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>More than 4,000 passengers were affected, and thirty flights were disrupted, according to the press service.<\/p>\n<p>Fourteen flights bound for Vilnius were redirected to other airports \u2014 mostly to Kaunas (10 flights), two to Riga, and one each to Palanga and Warsaw.<\/p>\n<p>Ten flights were canceled, and one aircraft returned to its departure airport.<\/p>\n<p>Five flights will depart from Vilnius Airport with delays.<\/p>\n<p>Additional delays may occur throughout the day due to disrupted aircraft and crew rotations.<\/p>\n<p>Passengers whose flights were affected or canceled are advised to contact their airlines directly for detailed information.
