Woman Drowns In Brest After Going To Feed Swans

A tragic incident occurred last Sunday in Brest. Local residents pulled the body of a woman born in 1940 from the Mukhavets River. She drowned, the local water rescue society reported.

According to eyewitnesses, the elderly woman approached the edge of a pier to feed waterfowl and dropped a bag of feed into the water. As she bent down, she lost her balance and fell in.

The depth at that location was about one metre, but the woman was unable to get out of the water on her own. She was pulled out by a bystander.

An ambulance crew that arrived at the scene carried out resuscitation efforts, but the woman could not be saved.
