The Ministry of Information has updated the national list of “extremist materials”.
The list now includes the website of the “Volya” Belarusian UAV Special Company, as well as the Telegram channel of the unit, which consists of Belarusian volunteers in Ukraine. The decision to designate the information products of these resources as extremist was made by the Central District Court of Minsk on October 30. The same ruling added a “logo (watermark) in the form of a shield featuring an eight-pointed star with a cross inside and wings on either side of the star, in any colour variations” to the list.
The list has also been expanded to include the Facebook accounts “Animia Masha”, “Viktoria Voitseva” and “Ksenia Pleshkova”.
The Belarusian authorities use extremism charges to persecute opponents of Lukashenka and dissent in general.
