A new documentary series by Reform.news will begin airing on September 30 on the YouTube channel “Sasha, What Are You Talking About?!” Its protagonist and narrator, Siarhei Pukst, heads north to reminisce, be surprised and find out what connected independent Belarus with the Nordic countries.
Instead of a chronology of diplomatic relations, the series focuses on personal stories. Pukst recalls his trips to Finland, the Belarusian underground scene in Denmark, Scandinavian music, literary translations and cultural misunderstandings. The result is a story about the North without tourist enthusiasm or diplomatic caution.
The series consists of five episodes. The first will be released on September 30, with subsequent episodes coming out every Wednesday.
The scriptwriter and host is Siarhei Pukst. The director is Artsiom Lobach. The series was filmed at the Warsaw bar Redakcja — a new cultural space created by the Reform.news team.
