The Ukrainian Navy reported that the strike was carried out using the Neptune coastal missile system.

The statement also said that technical equipment used to support flight operations had been destroyed. According to the Ukrainian side, further detonations and a fire were recorded at the airfield. Information about the consequences of the strike is being clarified.

The extent of the damage to the aircraft has not been disclosed: the Ukrainian Navy says they were hit, not destroyed.
