Ukraine has terminated an agreement with the government of Belarus on the prompt notification of nuclear accidents and cooperation in the field of radiation safety. The Ukrainian government adopted the relevant resolution on September 17.
The agreement was signed on October 16, 2001, in Kyiv. It provided for cooperation between Ukraine and Belarus in the field of radiation safety and prompt notification of nuclear accidents.
Under the resolution, Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is to notify the government of Belarus, in accordance with established procedures, of the termination of the agreement.
