Ukraine’s Navy said that two Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers had been destroyed in a missile strike on Marinovka airfield in Russia’s Volgograd Region.
According to the Navy, the strike on the site where Russian aircraft were stationed was carried out using a Neptune coastal missile system. The aircraft were reportedly located at the 11th Mixed Aviation Regiment near the settlement of Oktyabrsky in the Volgograd Region.
“The Su-34 is one of the main platforms used by Russian tactical aviation to deploy guided aerial bombs against Ukrainian cities, Defence Forces positions and frontline areas,” the military said.
The Ukrainian military said it was continuing to strike Russian military facilities in order to reduce Russia’s ability to wage war against Ukraine.
