Ukraine’s HUR: No Signs Of Belarus Preparing To Enter The War

Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry (HUR)  Oleh Ivashchenko sees no signs that Belarus is preparing to enter the war. However, he is concerned about the deployment of signal repeaters in the country. He said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

“We are monitoring attempts by the Russian leadership to directly draw Belarus into the war against Ukraine. We know that Moscow wants to use Belarusian territory and military resources to expand the geography of hostilities against Ukraine.

But as of today, there are no signs that Belarus is preparing to enter the war against Ukraine, and the level of military threat to our country from the Belarusian direction is assessed as low”, he said.

At the same time, concern is being caused by repeaters that assist in guiding drones.

“However, we are concerned about Belarus allowing the deployment on its territory of radio-signal repeaters that guide Russian Shahed-type attack UAVs toward Ukrainian civilian targets and critical infrastructure.

We also note the deployment in Belarus of units of the 101st Missile Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces, which is equipped with the Oreshnik intermediate-range missile system.

And if Belarus did not grant such permission, this indicates that Minsk no longer controls Russia’s activities on its own territory”, he added.
