Ukraine’s General Staff Says Aircraft Hit at Russia’s Yeysk Airfield

Ukraine’s Defence Forces struck an aircraft at Russia’s Yeysk airfield in Krasnodar Krai. The extent of the damage is being assessed, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

Strikes on targets inside Russia were carried out on October 23 and during the night of October 24.

The Ukrainian side confirmed the strike on the Tolyattikauchuk plant in Tolyatti, Samara Region. An explosion and a fire were reported near the facility. The plant produces synthetic rubbers, monomers, hydrocarbon fractions and high-octane gasoline additives. The synthetic rubbers manufactured there are also used in the production of solid rocket fuel for tactical and ballistic missiles.

In addition, Ukraine’s General Staff said the main production building of Proton-Electrotex JSC in Oryol had been hit. The company manufactures optoelectronic equipment and components used in the production of cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as in Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile and gun systems.
