Ukraine Imposes Ceasefire Along Front Line, Media Reports

Ukrainian Defense Forces units have been ordered to observe a ceasefire along the front line from 00:00 on Sept. 5 until 23:59 on Sept. 8. The order was reported by Ukrainska Pravda, citing a senior source in the security and defense sector and sources from several brigades operating in different areas.

According to the sources, the measure was proposed by the Ukrainian side, but no agreements had been reached as of the time the information was provided.

The information was also confirmed by the major Ukrainian Telegram channel “Nikolaevski Vanek.”

“We received an order to cease fire (at the front and everywhere) until Sept. 8. It begins at 00:00 on Sept. 5. It was not announced anywhere. We will respond in kind if the russians violate this ceasefire,” the channel’s authors wrote.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine would not carry out air strikes against Russia during the visit of U.S. representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner and expects Moscow to do the same.
