Two-Month-Old Baby Poisoned by Water From Kettle Containing Citric Acid in Baranavichy

A two-month-old boy was hospitalised in Baranavichy with acute poisoning after his mother fed him formula prepared with water from a kettle containing citric acid. According to Aliaksandr Sukhadolski, an official representative of the Investigative Committee, the incident occurred on June 6, BelTA reported.

According to him, the woman and her child had arrived from abroad to visit her mother. The grandmother had poured citric acid into the kettle to remove limescale but did not warn her daughter. Unaware of this, the woman used water from the kettle to prepare infant formula. When she realised what had happened, she called an ambulance.

The child received prompt medical assistance, and his life and health are not in danger.
