Tusk: We Have Probably Faced Acts of Sabotage Again

Poland has once again faced acts of sabotage, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said during a commemorative event marking the 87th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II at Westerplatte in Gdańsk.

“The most important lesson from the events at Westerplatte is that those attacked by an aggressor must never again be left alone. Poland has fallen victim to numerous provocations. Most likely, several dozen hours ago, we once again faced acts of sabotage.

Finland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, Poland, Romania, Denmark, and most recently Germany have faced arson attacks, acts of sabotage, subversion and provocations. Yes, we will soon learn that it was Russian special services that organized the drone provocation in Leipzig. Perhaps the Germans, French, Italians, Spaniards — everyone without exception, all nations and all leaders of the free world — will understand that no one can be left alone in the face of evil,” he said.

Tusk was referring to two fires in Skarżysko-Kamienna and Lublin that occurred on Sunday and overnight into Monday at companies producing components for aircraft and drones, including those supplied for Ukraine’s needs. Both police and the Internal Security Agency worked at the scenes.

The National Prosecutor’s Office announced that the fire in Skarżysko-Kamienna is being investigated on suspicion of “participation in the activities of a foreign intelligence service against the Republic of Poland and the commission of a terrorist offense.”

“The crime consisted of deliberately setting fire to the premises of WB ELECTRONICS SA in Skarżysko-Kamienna on August 31, 2026, by planting a device containing flammable materials. The fire destroyed warehouse premises, and the damage caused is estimated at no less than 15 million zlotys,” prosecutors said.

Polish public broadcaster TVP, citing unofficial information, claims that the fire at an administrative and warehouse building in Lublin was also not accidental. It is suspected to have been the result of sabotage organized by “services from the East.”
