Prime Minister Aliaksandr Turchyn visited the Spartan-Agro farm in the Maladzyechna district today. Its head, Ihar Abramchyk, is described by state propaganda as a “farmer-IT specialist.” Aliaksandr Lukashenka has been taken to visit him several times in the past.
According to a statement from the government press service, the visit was prompted by state support provided to the farm and the implementation of another order from Lukashenka.
The government noted that the abnormal frosts that occurred last year have had a negative impact on production volumes at Spartan-Agro.
“In 2026, the farm received state support for planting an orchard on an area of 80 hectares, and preferential credit resources have been provided for the construction of a storage facility”, the statement said.
On Lukashenka’s instructions, the farm was also allocated 42.5 hectares of land near the village of Valeryanava outside Minsk for an orchard. This autumn, trees are planned to be planted on 25 hectares of the site.
In May this year, during a meeting with the Council of Ministers, Lukashenka expressed his desire to plant an orchard outside Minsk. He drew attention to reclaimed land near the capital belonging to the Dzerzhinsky agricultural complex.
“I know what we need outside Minsk. I would establish an orchard. A good orchard, we know how to do this. There is this guy in Maladzyechna. He knows how to do it. He would help him if necessary. There is a river flowing there, take as much water as you want. And an orchard needs water for irrigation. I would plant an orchard there. And we would fully supply Minsk with apples”, he said at the time.
Last year, Turchyn also visited the enterprise. At the time, the discussion focused on “development prospects in line with the state strategy to expand the range of fruit and vegetable products from domestic producers to meet the needs of the domestic market.”
