Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya welcomed the return of María Corina Machado to Venezuela. She expressed hope that Venezuela would now begin moving towards truly free elections.
“I am very happy to see María Corina Machado return to Venezuela. Her extraordinary struggle reminds us that the path to freedom may be long, but it is worth fighting for. We all hope that Venezuela will now move towards truly free elections and fully rejoin the family of democratic nations,” Tsikhanouskaya wrote on X.
On Sunday, Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado returned to her home country after an absence of several months. Last year, she secretly left the country despite a ban imposed by the authorities.
