Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with US Senator Jeanne Shaheen in New York. Shaheen is a co-founder of the “Free Belarus” Senate Caucus.

I thanked her for her long-standing support and for co-founding the bipartisan Senate Free Belarus Caucus. It was an honour to present her with the United Transitional Cabinet of Belarus‘s Medal ‘For Fruitful Work for the Benefit of Belarus’,” Tsikhanouskaya wrote.
Jeanne Shaheen, for her part, said that the US should continue supporting the democratic aspirations of the Belarusian people.
“Recent prisoner releases are welcome, but we must also continue to hold the Lukashenka regime accountable for its crimes,” the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s X account quoted Shaheen as saying.
