Tsikhanouskaya Congratulates the American People on Independence Day and Thanks Trump and Coale for Efforts to Free Political Prisoners

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya congratulated the American people on Independence Day and expressed gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump and his special envoy John Coale for their humanitarian efforts to secure the release of Belarusian political prisoners.

“Happy Independence Day to the people of the United States. As US marks 250 years since the Declaration of Independence, we honor the ideals that continue to inspire people around the world: liberty, dignity and the right of every nation to choose its own future. Belarusians share this dream,” she wrote in a post on social media platform X.

“We are deeply grateful to the President of the United States, the entire 🇺🇸 administration and Special Envoy John Coale for their humanitarian efforts to help bring our political prisoners home. America’s founding promise continues to give hope to Belarusians in our fight for freedom,” the democratic opposition leader added.
