Tsikhanouskaya and Borrell to Discuss Belarus at Foro La Toja in Spain

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya is taking part in the La Toja Forum in Spain, which runs from October 1 to 3. This year’s theme is “A World in Disorder.” The event addresses the crisis of the international order, the rise of authoritarianism, the development of artificial intelligence and European security issues.

This year’s participants include King Felipe VI of Spain, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, former EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, as well as representatives of OpenAI, Palantir, Harvard, Cambridge, Telefónica and Politico.

A separate 45-minute session at the forum on October 3 will focus on Belarus. The discussion is titled “Belarus: Silent Resistance.” Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and Josep Borrell will take part.

“It is very important that Belarus is being heard at such venues today as a full-fledged actor and part of the broader European conversation. We are discussing the future of democracy alongside challenges related to security, war and technology. The voices of Belarusians fighting for their freedom and European future will be heard where decisions affecting the entire region are made,” Tsikhanouskaya said.
