Traffic police officers stopped a minibus with gunfire in the Maladzyechna district. The driver was drunk, the Interior Ministry reports.
Traffic police officers signaled the driver to stop, but he ignored them and continued driving. The officers decided to use their service weapons and fired several shots at the wheels. Only then did the minibus stop.
The driver was a 39-year-old local resident who showed clear signs of alcohol intoxication. A medical examination found 1.4 parts per thousand of alcohol in his blood.
The man faces a fine of 200 basic units (9,000 rubles) and a five-year driving ban. He was taken to a temporary detention facility, while the minibus was taken to a guarded parking lot.
