TikTok Account of Belarusian Volunteer Aliaksei Lazarau, Killed in Ukraine, Declared “Extremist”

Belarus’ Ministry of Information has once again updated the “Republican List of Extremist Materials.” The list now includes the Instagram account of journalist Dzianis Dudzinski (“denis_doudinski”) and the TikTok account “alx_lazarau,” which belonged to Aliaksei Lazarau, a Belarusian volunteer who fought for Ukraine and was killed in action. The relevant decisions were issued on October 21 by the court of the Horki District in the Mahiliou Region and the Mahiliou District Court.

The list also includes:

• Facebook accounts “Aleksei Isakov” and “Aliaksandr Khomchanka”;
• the VKontakte community “Янаўская Хваля (Iванава-Беларусь)”;
• the TikTok account “kiss_batman.”

It should be recalled that accusations of extremism are used in Belarus to persecute opponents of Lukashenka and suppress dissent more broadly.
