Ten More People Recognised as Political Prisoners in Belarus

Belarusian human rights defenders have recognised another 10 individuals as political prisoners. They are Maksim Siamitka, Sviatlana Anhaleyka, Yauhen Fiadasenka, Viktar Kizevich, Alyaksandr Konanau, Aliaksei Kuzavatkin, Uladzimir Tselyapun, Natallia Ulasava, Viktar Zhdaniuk, Vital Lukhverchyk.

They have been detained or convicted in connection with alleged interaction with “extremist formations” and the exercise of freedom of expression, the Viasna human rights centre reported.

As of April 30, there are 841 political prisoners in Belarus.
