The Interior Ministry reported that the murder of a 43-year-old pregnant woman was solved quickly. A 38-year-old Minsk resident was detained on suspicion of committing the crime.
“The suspect admitted that he had been in an intimate relationship with the deceased and knew that she was expecting his child. At the same time, the man was officially in another relationship, which regularly led to conflicts between him and the victim”, the Interior Ministry said.
According to investigators, during another argument, he stabbed the woman several times, put her body in a travel bag, took it outside the city and buried it. The man also disposed of the victim’s clothing and smartphone.
The deceased’s daughter contacted the police two days after her mother disappeared. The man was detained within 24 hours. He reportedly confessed to the crime.
