Aliaksandr Subotsin, who was dismissed as chairman of the Vitsyebsk Regional Executive Committee in January this year, has received a new position. He has been appointed Minister for Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
According to the EEC press service, Subotsin has “extensive experience in senior positions in the economy.”
Subotsin headed the Vitsyebsk Regional Executive Committee from 2021 to 2026. Prior to that, he served as deputy prime minister in 2020–2021. Over the course of his career, he also twice held the position of aide to Lukashenka.
Explaining Subotsin’s dismissal, Alyaksandr Lukashenka said he had not seen “any drive or initiative” in his work.
