Six Firearms Found at a Resident’s Apartment in Polatsk

Officers of the Main Directorate for Combating Organised Crime and Corruption (GUBOPiK) found six homemade firearms, two homemade silencers, ammunition and gunpowder in the apartment of a Polatsk resident.

The 52-year-old man said that he had inherited the weapons from his father. However, investigators established that the Polatsk resident had been illegally restoring and collecting firearms, the Interior Ministry reported.

A criminal case has been opened over illegal activities involving firearms and ammunition. The Polatsk resident faces up to seven years in prison.
