Ryzhankou Receives Copies Of Credentials From New Iranian Ambassador

Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhankou received copies of the credentials of Iran’s new ambassador to Belarus, Mohsen Omidzamani, on Sept. 9.

The sides discussed current issues of political and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries and noted the development of bilateral relations and the high level of mutual trust. They also confirmed their interest in maintaining intensive contacts at the highest and high levels and further deepening the dialogue.

The diplomats also discussed a schedule of joint events for the near and medium term. As stated by the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s press service, these events are expected to give additional impetus to interstate cooperation and the development of priority areas of partnership.

Ryzhankou congratulated Omidzamani on the start of his diplomatic mission in Belarus and wished him success in his work.

Before being appointed ambassador to Belarus, Omidzamani served as deputy director general for multilateral and international economic cooperation and was also Iran’s ambassador to Singapore.

The previous Iranian ambassador to Belarus was Alireza Sanei.
