A 40-year-old Russian citizen traveling in a passenger car was detained at the Brest border crossing on the Belarusian-Polish border.
“To cross the border, the driver of the car in which she was traveling chose the red channel to process the temporary import of the vehicle. When customs officers asked whether they were carrying goods prohibited or restricted for import, the passengers answered no,” the State Customs Committee said.
However, it turned out that the woman’s luggage was in the next car, where her acquaintances were traveling. A service dog alerted officers to it.
“It turned out that among the personal belongings in the suitcase were a container and a plastic bag containing substances of unknown origin. An inspection established that the substances belonged to the woman from the first car,” the State Customs Committee added.
An examination showed that the luggage contained amphetamine and marijuana.
A criminal case has been opened.
