https://reform.news/en/russian-tankers-carrying-diesel-fuel-no-longer-bound-for-the-us-ft/Russian tankers carrying diesel fuel that had been sent to the United States are no longer listing destinations on the American continent as their intended ports of call. The Financial Times reports.
The vessels Talisman and Leruo are no longer listing the US Atlantic coast as their destination. Leruo is now heading to Brazil, while Talisman has entered the Mediterranean Sea. Its transponder shows that the vessel is awaiting orders. This means the cargo does not yet have a confirmed buyer or destination port.
A third tanker, Agioi Fanendes, is still heading towards the United States, but its transponder also indicates that the vessel is awaiting orders on its onward route. The ship’s owner, Eastern Mediterranean Maritime, confirmed to the newspaper that the port of discharge had not yet been confirmed.
So far, only one tanker, Beast, carrying Russian diesel fuel continues to head to the United States, listing the Atlantic coast as its destination.
Analysts interviewed by the newspaper point to hesitation among US buyers, who fear potential legal and sanctions-related problems.
