Russian Fighter Jet Crashes in Moscow Region

A Russian Su-57 fighter jet crashed near Zvenigorod in Russia’s Moscow Region on July 23.

According to Russia’s Defence Ministry, the crash occurred during take-off. The pilot ejected safely.

“On July 23 of this year, a combat trainer aircraft crashed during take-off in the Moscow Region. The pilot ejected, and there is no threat to his life. The aircraft came down in an uninhabited area, and there was no damage on the ground,” the ministry said in a statement.

The flight was being carried out without ammunition on board. The preliminary cause of the crash was a technical malfunction.
