A 58-year-old Russian citizen was detained at the Brest border crossing while attempting to bring cigarettes containing marijuana from Poland into Belarus.
The State Border Committee reported that the incident occurred on Sept. 22. A service dog detected several cans containing cigarettes with an unknown substance. The detainee admitted that it was marijuana. A medical examination confirmed that he had used it. A grinder, a blister pack containing a tablet and a container with hash oil were also found among the man’s personal belongings.
Criminal cases were opened against the Russian citizen under Part 1 of Article 328 of the Criminal Code (illegal drug trafficking) and Part 1 of Article 328-1 of the Criminal Code (illegal movement of drugs across the border).
