Russia has returned 19 tonnes of beef bound for Uzbekistan to Belarus, the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance reported.
A truck carrying a consignment of chilled beef was stopped in Russia’s Bryansk Region on the night of September 15-16.
According to the documents, the goods were produced by Aleksandrov LLC in Minsk Region and were being transported through Russia to Uzbekistan. The consignee was listed as MEAT MAGNAT LLC.
During an inspection, Rosselkhoznadzor officials found that the carcasses lacked veterinary inspection stamps, making it impossible to determine the origin of the products. The beef was returned to Belarus.
