The press service of the Interior Ministry of Belarus has announced the launch of a Telegram chatbot operating nationwide. Users can report crimes and offences or submit comments on police work.
The tool had previously been tested in the Minsk Region.
“The chatbot provides a convenient, simple and effective way to anonymously report incidents and offences around the clock, attaching photos, videos, voice messages and geolocation data,” the press service said.
However, the promise of anonymity is overstated — under certain conditions, Telegram allows users to be traced.
