Readiness Check of Internal Troops Brigade Completed

Belarus has completed a readiness check of the 7th Separate Special Police Brigade of the Interior Ministry’s Internal Troops.

The check began on September 2 on the orders of Aliaksandr Lukashenka. The focus was on the combat and mobilization readiness of the Internal Troops. The brigade was brought up to wartime strength. The Internal Troops were tasked with maintaining public order in the event of destabilization.

Servicemen of the Internal Troops practiced thwarting an attempt to seize a city-forming enterprise, blocking and eliminating a sabotage and reconnaissance group in a city, and freeing the head of a district executive committee who had been taken hostage.

“In the presence of representatives of the State Secretariat of the Security Council, servicemen demonstrated their combat training skills every day for two weeks, practiced various and unexpected scenarios, and worked with mobilized personnel,” the Interior Ministry’s press service reports.
