Several counterfeit banknotes were found on a 31-year-old native of Barysau and his 41-year-old acquaintance from Minsk, the State Forensic Examination Committee reported.
A bank employee in Minsk contacted the police. While counting and checking the cash, he identified three banknotes that raised suspicion.
During the investigation, police identified the suspects. It was established that they had on several occasions paid for goods in a store using 100-ruble banknotes.
During personal searches and searches at their places of residence in Barysau and Minsk, another 11 banknotes with a denomination of 500 rubles were seized. An expert concluded that all the banknotes were counterfeit: the images, including serial numbers, the security thread, and security fibers, were produced using inkjet printing.
A criminal case has been opened.
