Lithuania issued a possible air raid alert (yellow level), Delfi reported. The alert was triggered by the suspected presence of a drone in the country’s airspace.
The National Crisis Management Center warned residents of Vilnius and the Trakai and Elektrėnai districts of the threat. Authorities urged people not to approach suspicious objects and to report them by calling 112. Residents were also advised to follow further updates and identify the nearest shelter in advance.
Earlier today, it was reported that at around 4:05 a.m. on September 13, Lithuanian Air Force radars detected an object in the Varėna area moving toward the Kaliningrad region. It is believed to have entered Lithuanian airspace from Belarus.
At around 4:25 a.m., the object left Lithuanian airspace and entered the airspace of the Kaliningrad region. According to Lithuanian authorities, there was insufficient information to accurately determine the type of object. Its trajectory and other data collected did not indicate an immediate threat to residents or facilities in Lithuania.
