Polish Sejm Approves Extension of Suspension of Right to Seek Asylum at Belarus Border

The Polish Sejm has approved an extension of the suspension of the right to apply for international protection at the border with Belarus.

According to Poland’s Ministry of Interior and Administration, the suspension will be extended for another 60 days from July 20.

The temporary restrictions were first introduced on March 27, 2025, and have been extended every two months with parliamentary approval. The law provides exceptions for certain categories of asylum seekers. Applications may still be submitted by vulnerable groups, including pregnant women, unaccompanied minors and individuals requiring special protection.
