Polish prosecutors have opened an investigation into a fire at a Starlink satellite communications ground station in Wola Krobowska, in the Masovian Voivodeship. The investigation concerns actions carried out in the interests of a foreign intelligence service against Poland, as well as an act of sabotage and a terrorist offence involving arson, the National Prosecutor’s Office of Poland reports.
According to information available so far, the fire was caused by arson. There are reasonable grounds to suspect that the perpetrators acted on the orders of Russian intelligence services with the aim of disrupting the operation and internet connectivity of the Starlink system in Poland and other countries in Central and Eastern Europe, the prosecutors say.
The investigation is being conducted by the Internal Security Agency (ABW) office in Radom and the Central Bureau of Police Investigation in Radom. No one has been charged so far.
The fire at the Starlink ground station broke out on the evening of September 23.
