Poland does not plan to allow Belarusian and Russian athletes to take part in the European Diving Championships, despite the decision by World Aquatics to let Belarusians and Russians compete in international tournaments under their national flags.

According to the head of the Polish Swimming Federation, Otylia Jędrzejczak, athletes from Belarus and Russia will not be allowed to participate unless the military situation changes.

“As for the European Diving Championships, which are due to take place in Poland in 2027, I informed the leadership of the European federation that if the military situation does not change, we will not allow athletes from Russia and Belarus to compete”, Jędrzejczak told Polskie Radio.

It should be recalled that on April 13, World Aquatics restored full membership rights to Belarus and Russia and allowed Belarusian and Russian athletes to compete under their national flags and anthems.
