The presidents of the United States and Russia may speak by phone after the visit by US negotiators to Kyiv, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
“We do not rule out the possibility that the presidents may hold a telephone conversation following the trip by the US negotiators. We will inform you in a timely manner when this telephone conversation takes place and if it takes place”, he said, TASS reports.
Peskov described the visit by US President’s envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner as a small step toward peace.
“Of course, any attempts that are more or less effective are one small step toward peace. We truly highly value the peace efforts of the US negotiators”, he said.
The Kremlin spokesman did not rule out the resumption of trilateral talks.
“As for the resumption of the trilateral format, you heard the statements from Kyiv yesterday. Mr. Kushner made such statements. We also do not rule out the resumption of this trilateral format”, he said.
