Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov declined to comment on the redirection of tankers carrying Russian diesel fuel that had been bound for the United States. He was asked whether this meant the diesel deal had fallen through.
“We cannot discuss commercial details with you. Commercial details cannot be made public,” he replied.
As previously reported, the Financial Times wrote that three of the four tankers loaded with Russian diesel fuel had changed their destinations. Instead of ports on the US Atlantic coast, they are now transmitting the status “awaiting orders”, which generally means that the port of discharge has not yet been determined.
