Old Revolver Found During Restoration of Sapieha Palace in Ruzhany

A rusted revolver was discovered during restoration work at the Sapieha Palace complex in Ruzhany.

According to the State Forensic Examination Committee, the firearm was found inside a heating stove. The discovery was sent for forensic examination.

“According to the conclusion of an expert from the Brest Region Directorate of the State Forensic Examination Committee, the 7.62 mm Nagant revolver, Model 1895, is a rifled firearm”, the committee said.

The revolver has been so severely damaged by corrosion that it is no longer capable of being fired.
