The National Art Museum opened a new building at 47 Nezavisimosti Avenue. It stands on the site of the Centre for Contemporary Arts, which was disbanded this summer.
The building opened with a temporary exhibition, “Selected Works: Painting, Graphics, Sculpture,” from the collection of the National Centre for Contemporary Arts, and a lecture by Halina Levina, daughter of renowned architect Leanid Levin. His studios were located at this site in the 1990s.
According to National Art Museum Director General Iryna Matsias, the building will host not only exhibitions but also lectures.
The new space can be visited free of charge until September 20.
