A car exploded on Kolpinskoye Highway in St. Petersburg at around 10 a.m. on Aug. 27. The explosion occurred when the car began to move.
A lieutenant colonel in the Russian Air Force and Air Defense Forces and his wife were in the car at the time of the explosion, Fontanka reports. The man died at the scene and the woman was hospitalized.
The Telegram channel 112 reports that the lieutenant colonel who died was a military pilot.
