A man in Barysau District died of asphyxiation after attempting to swallow various objects while under the influence of a psychotropic substance.
As the State Forensic Examination Committee reported, the man, born in 1984, behaved aggressively, prompting his wife to call the police. His behavior soon became even more unusual: he grabbed microchips, paper, plastic bags and other objects and tried to swallow them. The man then lost consciousness and collapsed. Paramedics who arrived at the scene pronounced him dead.
No external bodily injuries were found during the initial examination of the body. The cause of death was established by forensic medical experts. The examination found that the man had died from mechanical asphyxia. A plastic cap, a flash drive, a protective phone screen film and fragments of polyethylene were found in the larynx area. The objects had fused into a dense mass and blocked the airways.
In addition, the psychotropic substance alpha-PVP was detected in the deceased man’s blood.
