Homiel District now has a flag and a coat of arms. The heraldic symbols were established by decree of Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
The coat of arms consists of a shield with two golden sheaves and a silver cross in the upper green field, and a golden lynx in the lower blue field. The flag reproduces the image of the coat of arms.
“The creation of new heraldic symbols will help promote national traditions and the region’s historical and cultural heritage,” Lukashenka’s press service states.
