Lukashenka Updates Directive On Measures To Strengthen Public Security And Discipline

Aliaksandr Lukashenka has updated Directive No. 1 on measures to strengthen public security and discipline by decree. The new version improves approaches to strengthening public security and introduces new mechanisms for maintaining it, including in the virtual environment, Lukashenka’s press service reports.

The priority areas of state bodies’ activities have been defined to create additional conditions for improving the public’s safety culture, developing the necessary skills for socially responsible behavior among citizens and a favorable social environment, as well as for the harmonious development of individuals.

The priority areas include:

  • maintaining public order,
  • ensuring information security,
  • countering extremism and the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs,
  • monitoring external migration processes,
  • protecting the population and territories from emergencies and civil defense,
  • road safety,
  • environmental safety,
  • sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population,
  • occupational safety.

The government, regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee have been tasked with organizing and coordinating activities to implement the directive by subordinate state bodies and organizations. At the same time, further oversight of its implementation will be carried out by the prosecutor’s offices.
