Aliaksandr Lukashenka met with Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov in Minsk on October 1.
Lukashenka called Kazakhstan an interesting partner and said relations between the two countries had improved under Kasym-Jomart Tokayev.
“I want to emphasize once again, as I have already said publicly: Kazakhstan is a very interesting partner for us and a friendly country. If anything in Belarus catches your eye in terms of mechanical engineering—which is important for Kazakhstan as well as Belarus—or agricultural development, high technology or other areas, there are no topics off limits. We will be happy to work with you. Moreover, relations between our countries have been very good for a long time.
Under the current President, they have not deteriorated; on the contrary, they have improved. Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich pays great attention to developing our relations, and I am very pleased with that. We often discuss ways to improve our relations by linking our economies,” Lukashenka said.
