The press services of Vladimir Putin and Aliaksandr Lukashenka have released the first footage of their meeting today at the Novo-Ogaryovo state residence outside Moscow. Lukashenka acknowledged that joint microelectronics production had been discussed during the recent visit to Minsk by Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.
“You are right, our trade turnover is growing — by at least 12%. We still need to calculate the final figure. We will significantly exceed last year’s level of trade. And it is good that modern electronics, as you said, account for a large share of this trade. Yesterday, Mikhail Vladimirovich (Mishustin — reform.news) and I discussed a topic you are familiar with — joining forces in electronics. We have fairly good capabilities. And recently Denis Manturov came to visit us and inspected these enterprises together with specialists. We worked out a certain form of cooperation in this area. But I want to tell you that your government has a common position, and my position and that of our government is the same — we absolutely will not be left naked here, without these microelectronics products. We are absolutely… today, together, we are creating everything we need. Tomorrow we will reach a very high level. So we will find the right format. This is not an issue, just as it is not an issue in other areas of cooperation,” Lukashenka said.
