Aliaksandr Lukashenka congratulated Vladimir Putin on the unified voting day. In his message, he said there had been “unprecedented participation by millions of voters” and that United Russia had secured a constitutional majority in the State Duma.
“A worthy response to cynical attempts from abroad to discredit the campaign and sow division in a united Russian society,” the Belarusian ruler said.
In his view, the election results demonstrate Russians’ support for the course pursued by Putin.
He expressed confidence that the renewed composition of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, as well as the elected officials of Russia’s regions and deputies, “will make a significant contribution” to implementing the integration agenda.
Lukashenka wished the recipient “the fulfillment of all good intentions for the glory of the Motherland.”
