Lukashenka Awards 43 State Decorations and Honorary Titles

Aliaksandr Lukashenka on Sept. 4 signed a decree and an order awarding representatives of various fields. State decorations and honorary titles were awarded to 43 people, while another 16 received a commendation from Lukashenka.

The awards were presented for many years of service, professionalism, high production performance, contributions to the development of agriculture, housing and utilities, construction, forestry and land reclamation, as well as for work in statistics, environmental protection, education, medicine, culture, the arts and science.

The Order of the Fatherland, Third Class, was awarded to Maryna Anikieyeva, general director of OJSC Molochny Mir, while the Order of Honor was awarded to Aliaksandr Shyshko, chairman of the Ozery agricultural cooperative in Hrodna district.

The Medal for Labor Merits was awarded, among others, to Alena Buyalskaya, assistant forester at the Kozyany forestry unit of Braslau Lakes National Park, Klaudziya Kuzmich, head of Pharmacy No. 12 of the state enterprise BelLekoTsentr, and Piotr Paprotski, director of the Hrusha Repair and Mechanical Plant.

The Francysk Skaryna Medal was awarded to Uladzimir Lialevich, head of the Department of Biochemistry at Hrodna State Medical University.

In addition, a number of specialists were awarded honorary titles.

The title of Honored Artist was awarded to artist Aleh Skavarodka. The title of Honored Scientist was awarded to BSTU professor Aleh Darmeshkin and Vitali Shevlyakou, chief researcher at the laboratory of the Research Institute of Hygiene, Toxicology, Epidemiology, Virology and Microbiology.

The title of Honored Economist was awarded to Ina Miadzvedzieva, chairwoman of the National Statistical Committee.

The title of Honored Education Worker was awarded to BSTU professor Natallia Chornaya, head of the university’s Department of Biotechnology Viktar Leontsiyeu, and Military Academy professor Siarhei Fomin.

A commendation for contributions to the development of the construction industry and effective production activities was issued to OJSC Dorstroymontazhtrest.

Another 16 representatives of various fields received a Commendation for many years of fruitful work and professional achievements. They included employees of the tax service, medical institutions, the State Control Committee, the Emergency Ministry system and the peat industry, Lukashenka’s press service reported.
